Kahana sends its aloha to Lauren A. Tanaka (November 21, 1951 – June 10, 2017) DLNR Representative to the Kahana Planning Council. Her aloha and dedication to the land and people of Kahana will be fondly remembered!

Legislative Grants in Aid (GIA)
Friends of Kahana is applying for a legislative grant for the purpose of hiring a professional planner to assist the Kahana Planning Council with the process of creating a Master Plan for Kahana. The objective is to compile all work done so far into a meaningful draft that can be distributed to the community feedback, and then to incorporate community manaʻo in order to create a comprehensive plan that works for everyone.

KPC Meeting 6-26-13
The Kahana Planning Council had a successful meeting on Wednesday, June 26th. Draft minutes of the meeting are available via the documents list, available through the Documents page of this site. Among items discussed were a goal of a first Master Plan draft by the end of summer; historic moʻolelo resources being researched by kupuna Ululani Bierne; improvements to website and community information sharing; and upcoming events. Next meeting will be August 31, 2013. Everyone is welcome to attend. Stay tuned!!
KPC meeting 5-29-13
KPC continued its planning work, planning for displays given br Dr. Luciano Minerbi of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and hearing a Business Plan presentation by Dr. Tusi Avegalio and Dr. David Gillespie of the U.H. Shidler College of Business Administration. Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month. Next Kahana Planning Council Meeting: June 26, 9:00 am. at the Kahana
Community Store.
BLNR Minutes, March 22, 2013
The minutes of the BLNR meeting on 3/22/2013 have been added to the Documents page of the website. At this meeting, leases for the 6 families formerly facing eviction were unanimously granted by the Board, pending approval of a wastewater treatment plan. The meeting record documents testimony given at the meeting, along with comments and questions.
New Website Launched
The Kahana Planning Website has moved to a new address. This will make content easier to manage, and the site address easier to remember! Mahalo to everyone who helped with this.
